Language and speech therapy workshops in Lithuania, 2022
In the period April - December 2022, we implemented a project entitled "Language and speech therapy workshops for students of Polish philology and teachers of Polish in Lithuania", financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the Promotion of the Polish Language program.
The project partner is the Vytautas the Great University in Kaunas. Organizational support from the partner was provided by the Center for Polish Language and Polish Culture.
The project included over 120 hours of workshops, mainly in the field of oral and written statements, shaping the speech, fluency, lexical and stylistic richness, and eliminating communication disorders.
The project included 3 blocks of classes:
April 19 - 29, 2022 - a block of on-line classes
June 13-15, 2022 and August 17-19, 2022 - two blocks of full-time classes in Vilnius.
The workshop allowed the participants to supplement their existing knowledge and acquire new knowledge in Polish linguistics, learn about the causes of speech defects and methods of eliminating them. Students and teachers also learned the techniques and tools of working with people who have problems speaking Polish. The classes prepared the recipients in practical terms for reliable teaching of Polish phonetics (accent, intonation), for professional Polish language classes in terms of grammatical correctness, correct diction and correct voice interpretation of the spoken text.
